Juárez once again one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
Juárez police officials said they dealt a large blow to drug traffickers after intercepting a ton of marijuana during the weekend.
Police also arrested two men and a woman described as major drug suppliers to various bars in the city.
As part of an investigation, police found the ton of marijuana hidden among a load of sacks of plaster being transported Friday on a flatbed trailer, a news release stated.
Two men were arrested and allegedly told police that the marijuana was loaded in the town of Baborigame in western Chihuahua, officials said.
Police said that the drug belonged to the Gente Nueva, a crime group with the Sinaloa cartel.

Police stopped the load before it could to be delivered in Juárez to two men known only as “El Niño” and “Chato.”
Officials said that the marijuana was to be re-packed and smuggled into the United States. It was estimated to be worth 2.5 million pesos, or about $140,000.
In a separate case, Juárez police arrested two men and a woman Saturday suspected of supplying cocaine and other drugs to dealers in bars.
The group allegedly belong to La Linea, or the Juárez drug cartel, and had a list of drug buyers, sellers and customers who owed money operating out of bars.
As part of an investigation, the group was stopped in a Ford Edge in the parking lot of the Montecarlo hotel in the San Lorenzo area in north Juárez, police said.
Police said that the men, who both had handguns tucked in their waistbands, were sitting in the front seat.

The woman was in the rear seat with a pillow case that contained 2,800 individual “doses” of cocaine, bags of marijuana and pills, police said.
Officials said that the drugs had an estimated street value of more than 1 million pesos, or about $55,600.
Those arrested were only identified as Israel D.M., 37, Victoriano B.C., 23, and Sarahi F.V., 28.
Full names were not disclosed by officials because of rules regarding the release of names of crime suspects.
